Cookie Policy
LAST UPDATED: JANUARY 14, 20261. What are cookies?
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information about your visit. This page describes which cookies and similar technologies Hireeo uses, for what purpose, and for how long.
2. Strictly necessary cookies
These do not require your consent because they are required for the site to function:
- Country cookie (multi-country routing): remembers your selected country. Duration: 1 year.
- Session cookie (authentication): keeps you logged in. Duration: 30 days.
- Browser session storage: avoids repeating the intro animation. Duration: browser session.
3. Analytics cookies
Google Analytics 4 uses the following cookies to measure site usage (data transferred to the US):
- _ga: distinguishes users. Duration: 2 years.
- _ga_<container-id>: persists the GA4 session. Duration: 2 years.
- _gid: distinguishes users. Duration: 24 hours.
- _gat / _gat_gtag_*: throttles request rate. Duration: ~1 minute.
4. Marketing and advertising cookies
Hireeo uses Google Tag Manager (GTM) as a technical container that lets us add or remove measurement tags without changing the site code. As of this policy, GTM has no marketing or advertising tags configured beyond Google Analytics 4, described in section 3. If additional marketing tags are added in the future, this policy will be updated to detail which cookies they install, for what purpose, and for how long.
5. Functionality third parties (not cookies)
These services receive technical data (coordinates, IP) when certain site features are used:
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): converts coordinates to an address and vice versa when using location search.
- OpenStreetMap (tiles): displays the map, admin panel only.
- Cloudflare (cdnjs): serves map icons, admin panel only.
6. Applicable legal framework
In the United States, this policy is evaluated against state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA (California) and comparable laws in other states; there is no single federal framework.
7. Cookie preference center
Strictly necessary cookies (section 2) are always active because they are required for the site to function. We are developing a preference center that will let you accept, reject, or configure analytics and marketing cookies by category directly on Hireeo. Until that center is available, you can block or delete those cookies from your browser settings, as explained in section 8.
8. How to withdraw your consent
You can delete cookies already installed and block future ones from your browser settings; note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent Hireeo from working correctly. Once the preference center described in section 7 is available, you will also be able to withdraw your consent to analytics and marketing cookies directly from there, without affecting necessary cookies.

10. Browser signals (Global Privacy Control)
Hireeo does not yet automatically detect and honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out request for the sale or sharing of data. We are working on supporting it as part of the preference center described in section 7. Until then, you can exercise the same opt-out rights described in section 8 by writing to privacy@hireeo.app or through your browser's cookie settings.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time. Thank you for using Hireeo.
